India and Brunei held the inaugural meeting of their Joint Working Group (JWG) on Defence Cooperation in New Delhi on 9 December 2025. The India–Brunei JWG was co-chaired by Joint Secretary Amitabh Prasad of India's Ministry of Defence and Deputy Permanent Secretary Poh Kui Choon of Brunei's Ministry of Defence, who signed the Terms of Reference establishing the JWG before the meeting. The two sides discussed military exchanges and joint training, maritime security, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, capacity building and defence industry collaboration.
