India awarded 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games; Ahmedabad named host city

India was officially awarded the 2030 Commonwealth Games, with Amdavad (Ahmedabad), Gujarat, declared the host city at the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) General Assembly in Glasgow on 26 November 2025.

The 2030 Games will mark the centenary (100th year) of the Commonwealth Games and India's return as host after 20 years, having hosted the 2010 edition in New Delhi. PM Narendra Modi welcomed the decision. The Sports Ministry held a celebration at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi, attended by Sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, where the hashtag #CWG2030InBHARAT was unveiled.
