India formally assumed the chairmanship of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) for the 2025–26 term during the 67th session of the APO Governing Body Meeting, held from 20 to 22 May 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Indian delegation was led by DPIIT Secretary and APO Director for India Amardeep Singh Bhatia. As Chair, India reaffirmed its commitment to APO Vision 2030 and the Green Productivity 2.0 framework. More than 100 Indian professionals take part in APO capacity-building programmes each year through the National Productivity Council under DPIIT. The Governing Body is the APO's highest decision-making authority, and the APO was established in 1961.
