The Indian Navy commissioned INAS 335 'The Ospreys', the second Indian Naval Air Squadron to operate MH-60R helicopters, at INS Hansa in Goa on 17 December 2025, in a ceremony presided over by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi. INAS 335 follows the first MH-60R squadron, commissioned in Kochi, Kerala, in March 2024, and is commanded by Captain Dhirender Bisht. The MH-60R is an all-weather helicopter built for anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, medical evacuation and vertical replenishment, and the new squadron will strengthen naval aviation on the Western Seaboard.
