Skymap Pharmaceuticals approved as strategic buyer of IMPCL for ₹121.01 crore

On 26 May 2026 the Centre approved Skymap Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd.'s bid of about ₹121.01 crore for 100% equity and management control of Indian Medicines Pharmaceutical Corporation Limited (IMPCL), a CPSE under the Ministry of Ayush.

Summary

The Alternative Mechanism, a Group of Ministers empowered by the CCEA and comprising the Union Ministers for Road Transport and Highways, Finance and the MoS (IC) for Ayush, approved the highest bid of ₹121,00,94,400 by Skymap Pharmaceuticals Private Limited for 100% equity of IMPCL along with transfer of management control. IMPCL, incorporated on 12 July 1978, makes and supplies standardised Ayurvedic and Unani medicines. The CCEA gave in-principle approval for its strategic disinvestment in November 2017. Seven parties expressed interest after the PIM of 01.09.2023, and two financial bids were received by 20.01.2026; the winning bid was above the reserve price.
