MoSPI's quick estimate released on 28 July 2026 showed the Index of Industrial Production (base 2022-23=100) grew 7.3% in June 2026, led by manufacturing (7.8%) and electricity & gas supply (10.6%).

Summary

The Index of Industrial Production (IIP, base 2022-23=100) recorded 7.3% year-on-year growth in June 2026, up from 5.1% (quick estimate) in May 2026. Sector-wise growth was mining & quarrying 1.0%, manufacturing 7.8%, electricity & gas supply 10.6% and water supply, sewerage & waste management 6.1%. The index stood at 123.1 against 114.7 in June 2025. In manufacturing, 19 of 23 industry groups grew; the top contributors were electrical equipment (34.0%), motor vehicles (17.5%) and food products (10.8%). The quick estimate of IIP is released on the 28th of every month.
