India's Index of Industrial Production (IIP) grew 4.0% year-on-year in August 2025, according to the Quick Estimate released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on 29 September 2025. The July 2025 Quick Estimate was 3.5%. Mining grew 6.0%, manufacturing 3.8% and electricity 4.1%, and the index stood at 151.7 against 145.8 in August 2024 (base 2011-12=100). The top manufacturing contributors were basic metals (12.2%), coke and refined petroleum products (5.4%) and motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (9.8%). By use-based classification, infrastructure/construction goods grew 10.6% while consumer non-durables fell 6.3%. Under the revised calendar, the Quick Estimate of IIP is now released on the 28th of every month.
