On 3 October 2024, in the UAE, an MoU was signed by IIFT Vice Chancellor Professor Rakesh Mohan Joshi and Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority, for the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) to open its first overseas campus. The campus will be at the former Expo 2020 India Pavilion in Expo City Dubai and is expected to benefit the 3.5 million-strong Indian community in the UAE.
