The dhow had left Porbandar for Bandar Abbas, Iran, and sank in rough seas. ICGS Sarthak found the crew in a small dinghy about 270 km west of Dwarka, within Pakistan's Search and Rescue Region. The distress call was received by MRCC Mumbai.
