On 28 October 2024, the Indian Coast Guard simultaneously launched two Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs), 'Adamya' and 'Akshar', built by Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) with over 60% indigenous content. They are part of a contract with GSL for eight FPVs at a cost of ₹473 crore. Each is 52 m long and 8 m wide, displaces 320 tonnes and has a top speed of 27 knots. In a first, the two vessels were launched simultaneously using a Ship Lift System, in the presence of ICG Director General Paramesh Sivamani.
