In the QS Subject Rankings 2026 released on 25 March, ICAR-IVRI Bareilly entered the 51-100 band in Veterinary Science â the only Indian university in that top 100 â and ICAR-IARI New Delhi debuted at 151-200 in Agriculture & Forestry.

Two deemed universities of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) entered the QS World University Rankings by Subject for the first time in the 2026 edition released on 25 March. ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Bareilly, was placed in the 51-100 band for Veterinary Science, the only Indian university in the top 100 of that subject. ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, debuted in the 151-200 band for Agriculture & Forestry, alongside BHU, University of Delhi and IIT Kharagpur. In all, 10 Indian universities were among 475 ranked in Agriculture & Forestry; Tamil Nadu Agricultural University was in the 201-250 band and CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, made its debut in the 301-350 band.
