On 11 November 2024 at Air Force Station Agra, Uttar Pradesh, Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Air Command, inaugurated the IAF's C-295 Full Motion Simulator (FMS) facility. A significant part of pilot training can be done on the simulator, which simulates missions such as tactical airlift, para-dropping, para-trooping, medical evacuation and disaster relief in a near-realistic environment. The IAF said C-295 induction marks the beginning of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' in private-sector production of transport aircraft in India.
