Haryana Cabinet approves 100% motor vehicle tax exemption for EVs up to Rs 30 lakh
On 28 July 2026 the Haryana Cabinet chaired by CM Nayab Singh Saini approved a 100% motor vehicle tax exemption on new electric two-, three- and four-wheelers costing up to Rs 30 lakh, and 50% for costlier EVs.

The Haryana Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, approved a 100% exemption from motor vehicle tax on new registration of pure electric/battery-operated two-wheelers, three-wheelers (autos and e-rickshaws) and four-wheelers with an ex-showroom price of up to Rs 30 lakh; EVs above Rs 30 lakh get a 50% exemption. Earlier a 20% rebate applied to EVs and CNG vehicles; the 20% rebate for CNG vehicles continues. The Cabinet also approved a 1% motor vehicle tax rebate for vehicles registered in women's names (up to Rs 20 lakh) and the Haryana Progressive MSME & Export Promotion Policy 2026.
