HAL receives first set of LCA Mk1A wing assemblies from L&T at Coimbatore

On 17 July 2025 at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, Larsen & Toubro handed over the first set of wing assemblies for the LCA Mk1A to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

Larsen & Toubro handed over the first set of wing assemblies for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk1A to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on 17 July 2025. The assemblies were made at L&T's Precision Manufacturing & Systems Complex and received by M Abdul Salam, General Manager of HAL's LCA Tejas Division, while Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar attended virtually. HAL CMD DK Sunil said HAL has built a parallel aircraft structural assembly line in the private sector to augment LCA Tejas capacity. L&T will supply four wing sets a year, with plans to scale up to 12 sets a year. Other private suppliers of LCA Mk1A modules include Lakshmi Machine Works (air intake), Alpha Tocol (rear fuselage), Tata Advanced Systems (fin and rudder) and VEM Technologies (centre fuselage).
