The project is implemented by Purba Bharati Gas Pvt Ltd (PBGPL), a joint venture of Assam Gas Company Ltd, Oil India Ltd and GAIL Gas Ltd, authorised for city gas distribution in Kamrup (Metropolitan), Kamrup, Cachar, Hailakandi and Sribhumi districts. Assam has about 23 CNG stations.
