Gujarat raises assistance for new Nagar Seva Sadans in municipalities

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on 13 April 2025 raised the financial assistance for building new Nagar Seva Sadans (municipal offices) under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, to ₹6 crore for A-class municipalities.

The Gujarat government, led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, on 13 April 2025 increased the assistance given to municipalities for constructing new Nagar Seva Sadan buildings under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana. The amount rises from ₹2 crore to ₹6 crore for A-class municipalities, from ₹2 crore to ₹5 crore for B-class, from ₹1 crore to ₹4 crore for C-class and from ₹1 crore to ₹3 crore for D-class municipalities. Up to 25% of the amount can be used for repair or expansion of existing buildings. New buildings are to have lifts for divyang persons and senior citizens, solar systems and rainwater harvesting under 'Catch the Rain'. Gujarat has 34 A-class, 37 B-class, 61 C-class and 17 D-class municipalities.
