Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) launched two Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs), Amulya and Akshay, built for the Indian Coast Guard, in Goa on 5 January 2025 in the presence of Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar. Amulya and Akshay are the third and fourth of eight FPVs being built under a ₹473 crore contract concluded in March 2022; the first two, Adamya and Akshar, were launched in October 2024. The 52-metre, 320-tonne vessels have over 60% indigenous content, were launched simultaneously using GSL's ship-lift for the first time, and are the first FPVs in India built with a controllable pitch propeller.
