On 10 October 2025 Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & IT Jitin Prasada took part in Day 1 of the G20 Trade & Investment Ministers' Meeting (TIMM) in Gqeberha, South Africa. In the WTO discussions he backed a rules-based, transparent and inclusive multilateral trading system anchored in MFN and non-discrimination, called for a fully functional two-tier dispute settlement system with an operational Appellate Body, and pressed for a permanent solution on public stockholding for food security. He held bilateral meetings with South Africa's Trade Minister Parks Tau (standards, MSMEs and skills), South Korea's Trade Minister Yeo Han-Koo (electronics, EV components, digital supply chains), the Netherlands, Japan and the UK. The G20 has 19 countries, the European Union and the African Union, which joined during India's Presidency.
