The G20 Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group (DRRWG) Ministerial Meeting was held in Belem, Brazil, from 30 October to 1 November 2024. An Indian delegation led by Principal Secretary to the PM Dr P K Mishra took part, and consensus was reached on the first Ministerial declaration on Disaster Risk Reduction. Dr Mishra highlighted the five DRRWG priorities set during India's G20 Presidency, including early warning systems and disaster-resilient infrastructure, and reiterated India's commitment to the Sendai Framework. The delegation also joined a Troika meeting with the ministers of Brazil and South Africa.
