FIU-India signs MoUs with SEBI and PFRDA to fight money laundering

The Financial Intelligence Unit-India (FIU-IND) signed separate MoUs with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) on 16 April 2026 for information sharing against money laundering and terror financing.

The Financial Intelligence Unit-India (FIU-IND) signed separate Memoranda of Understanding with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) on 16 April 2026, the Finance Ministry said. FIU-IND Director Amit Mohan Govil signed both, with SEBI Whole Time Member Sandip Pradhan and PFRDA Whole Time Member Randip Singh Jagpal. The MoUs provide for intelligence sharing, outreach and training to strengthen anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) capability among regulated entities, quarterly meetings, nodal officers, and joint assessment of money laundering and terror financing risks. They will also help exchange information with foreign FIUs under the Egmont Principles of Information Exchange.
