FIU-IND and I4C sign MoU to fight cyber fraud and financial crimes

The Financial Intelligence Unit-India (FIU-IND) and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, announced by the Finance Ministry on 9 April 2026, to improve information sharing and coordination against cyber fraud and financial crimes. It was signed by FIU-IND Director Amit Mohan Govil and I4C Chief Executive Officer Rajesh Kumar. The MoU will help both agencies develop operational information, support investigative agencies in preventing financial crimes and recovering assets, set up feedback mechanisms to improve fraud detection, and issue guidelines and red-flag indicators to financial institutions. FIU-IND is the central national agency that receives, analyses and disseminates information on suspect financial transactions; I4C is an attached office of the Ministry of Home Affairs and runs platforms such as the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal.
