Japan launched the CA+JAD framework in 2004, with the first Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in Kazakhstan that August, and the Tokyo summit came 21 years later. Takaichi announced the 'CA+JAD Tokyo Initiative' to support industrial development in Central Asia, the leaders adopted the Tokyo Declaration, and they agreed that future summits will rotate in English alphabetical order starting with Kazakhstan.
