Kharif foodgrain output estimated at record 173.33 million tonnes in 2025-26
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan released the first advance estimates of Kharif crop production for 2025-26 on 26 November 2025, putting total Kharif foodgrain output at 173.33 million tonnes, up 3.87 million tonnes.

Kharif rice is estimated at 124.504 million tonnes (up 1.732 MT) and maize at 28.303 MT (up 3.495 MT). Coarse cereals are put at 41.414 MT and pulses at 7.413 MT, including tur at 3.597 MT.
