Fifth Fast Patrol Vessel 'Achal' launched at Goa Shipyard for Coast Guard

On 16 June 2025 in Goa, 'Achal', the fifth of eight Fast Patrol Vessels being built by Goa Shipyard Ltd for the Indian Coast Guard, was launched.

'Achal', the fifth Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) in a series of eight being built by Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) for the Indian Coast Guard, was launched in Goa on 16 June 2025 by Kavita Harbola in the presence of Additional Director General Anil Kumar Harbola, Coast Guard Commander (Western Seaboard). The vessel has over 60% indigenous content and dual-class certification from the American Bureau of Shipping and the Indian Register of Shipping. It is 52 metres long and 8 metres wide, displaces 320 tons and can reach 27 knots with a CPP-based propulsion system. The project cost is ₹473 crore.
