FCI and state agencies procure 120.67 LMT paddy in Punjab in KMS 2024-25

On 9 November 2024, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution said 126.67 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of paddy had arrived in Punjab's mandis as of 8 November 2024, of which 120.67 LMT had been procured by state agencies and the Food Corporation of India. Paddy is bought at the MSP of ₹2,320 per quintal for Grade 'A'. Procurement so far, worth ₹27,995 crore, has benefited about 6.58 lakh farmers. Procurement in KMS 2024-25 began on 1 October 2024, with 2,927 mandis and temporary yards operating.
