EPFO lets Aadhaar-validated members update profile details without documents
The EPFO announced on 19 January 2025 that members whose UAN is validated through Aadhaar can update details such as name, date of birth and gender themselves without uploading documents.
Summary
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) announced on 19 January 2025 a simplified process for updating member profiles. Members whose Universal Account Number (UAN) has been validated through Aadhaar can now update details such as name, date of birth, gender, nationality, parents' names, marital status, spouse name and dates of joining and leaving without uploading any document. Where the UAN was obtained before 1 October 2017, employer certification alone is needed. Of about 8 lakh correction requests received through employers in 2024-25, almost 45% can be self-approved, removing an average delay of about 28 days. About 3.9 lakh members with pending requests benefit immediately; around 27% of member grievances relate to profile/KYC issues.
