Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh presented the report of the Empowered Committee for Capability Enhancement of the Indian Air Force (IAF) to Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on 3 March 2025. The committee identified key thrust areas and made short-, medium- and long-term recommendations, and stressed Aatmanirbharta in aerospace with the private sector complementing DPSUs and DRDO. It was chaired by the Defence Secretary, with the Vice Chief of Air Staff, Secretary (Defence Production), Secretary DDR&D and Chairman DRDO, and DG Acquisition as members, and the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff as Member Secretary. The Raksha Mantri directed time-bound follow-up of the recommendations.
