The Election Commission of India began the second phase of the International Election Visitors' Programme (IEVP) 2026 at the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM), New Delhi, on 21 April 2026. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar inaugurated it. Thirty-four delegates from 17 countries, including representatives of foreign missions in Delhi and of International IDEA, took part. They were to visit Tamil Nadu and West Bengal on 22–23 April and watch polling on the morning of 23 April. In the first phase, delegates visited Assam, Kerala and Puducherry on 8–9 April 2026. The IEVP is ECI's flagship programme for engagement with election management bodies of other countries.
