ECI completes Form 17A scrutiny in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal Phase I; no repoll recommended
Scrutiny of Form 17A and other poll-day documents was completed on 24 April 2026 in all 152 Assembly constituencies of West Bengal Phase I and all 234 of Tamil Nadu, and no repoll was recommended in any of the 44,376 and 75,064 polling stations respectively, the Election Commission said.

Post-poll scrutiny of Form 17A (Register of Voters) and other poll-day records was conducted on 24 April 2026 by Returning Officers in the presence of General Observers in all 152 Assembly constituencies that voted in West Bengal Phase I and all 234 Assembly constituencies of Tamil Nadu, the Election Commission of India said on 25 April 2026. In West Bengal Phase I, all 1,478 candidates were informed and over 600 candidates or representatives attended; no repoll was recommended for any of the 44,376 polling stations that voted on 23 April. In Tamil Nadu, all 4,023 candidates were informed and 1,825 candidates or representatives attended; no repoll was recommended for any of the 75,064 polling stations. EVMs and VVPATs are in sealed strong rooms with a double-lock system, two-tier security and CCTV.
