ECI mandates Assured Minimum Facilities and mobile phone deposit at polling stations for Bihar polls
The Election Commission of India directed that every polling station in the Bihar Assembly election and the 2025 bye-elections have Assured Minimum Facilities and voter assistance, including a new mobile phone deposit facility.

On 24 October 2025, the Election Commission of India (ECI) directed Chief Electoral Officers to provide Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) and voter help at every polling station for the Bihar Assembly election and the bye-elections in 8 constituencies, whose schedule was announced on 6 October 2025. AMF covers drinking water, a waiting shed, a toilet with water, lighting, a ramp for voters with disabilities, a standard voting compartment and signage. Four standard Voter Facilitation Posters will be displayed, and Voter Assistance Booths staffed by Booth Level Officers will help voters find their booth and serial number. In a new step, voters will hand their switched-off phones to a volunteer outside the polling station and collect them after voting.
