On 11 June 2026 at IIT Gandhinagar, Union Minister Jitendra Singh launched a DST-funded Central Instrumentation Facility and three new research clusters on advanced materials, energy and healthcare-MedTech.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology Jitendra Singh launched a Department of Science & Technology (DST)-funded Central Instrumentation Facility and three new research clusters at IIT Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on 11 June 2026. The clusters are the Advanced Materials Research Cluster (AMRC), the Energy Research Cluster (ERC) and the Healthcare & MedTech Research Cluster (HMRC), designed to carry research through pilot development, validation and technology transfer. The Minister also referred to the recently announced ₹1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) initiative to boost private-sector research.
