The truck had come in a convoy from Jiribam in Manipur, and a fabricated cavity behind the driver's seat held 56 kg of pinkish-orange methamphetamine tablets; the occupant was arrested. Earlier, on 18 August, DRI had seized 20 kg of the tablets from a car at Bung Bangla on the Aizawl–Champhai road in Mizoram, smuggled from Myanmar through the Zokhawthar–Champhai sector. Methamphetamine is a psychotropic substance under the NDPS Act, 1985.
