Acting on intelligence, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) intercepted a Nagaland-registered truck on the outskirts of Aizawl, Mizoram, late at night on 11 April 2025 and recovered 52.67 kg of methamphetamine tablets worth ₹52.67 crore, the Finance Ministry announced on 13 April. The tablets, in 53 brick-sized packets marked '3030 Export Only' and '999', were hidden in the folds of the truck's tarpaulin. The truck had come from Zokhawthar on the Indo-Myanmar border and was bound for Tripura. The driver and his assistant were arrested under the NDPS Act, 1985. DRI said it had seized 148.50 kg of methamphetamine tablets in the North-East since January 2025.
