The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) busted a clandestine facility illegally manufacturing psychotropic substances in Satara district, Maharashtra, on 1 August 2026. Alprazolam and Diazepam, both listed as psychotropic substances under the NDPS Act, 1985, were being made there for illicit trafficking. Searches recovered about 1 kg of finished Alprazolam, over 15 kg in intermediary form, about 3.75 kg of Diazepam and around 400 litres of raw materials; two persons, including the manufacturer, were arrested.
