The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) said on 11 February 2025 that it had busted two facilities printing Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) in Maharashtra and Haryana. The case began when Delhi Customs seized 203 sheets of security-thread paper bearing 'RBI' and 'Bharat' inscriptions that had arrived from Hong Kong at the New Courier Terminal, Delhi, on 24 January 2025. The DRI traced the importers to Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh) and Bengaluru, and the buyer to Bhiwani, Haryana, where a printer and partly printed notes were found; two more people were intercepted in Thane. Three people were arrested by the Maharashtra and Haryana Police under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
