The Advanced Armoured Platforms (Tracked and Wheeled), designed and developed by DRDO's Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (VRDE), were unveiled by Secretary DDR&D and DRDO Chairman Samir V Kamat at the DRDO laboratory in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra on 25 April 2026. Both platforms carry an indigenously developed 30 mm crewless turret with a 7.62 mm PKT gun, configured to launch anti-tank guided missiles. The platforms offer STANAG level 4 and 5 protection with modular blast and ballistic protection, and are amphibious, using hydro jets for water crossing. Indigenous content is about 65%, with plans to raise it to 90%. Tata Advanced Systems Limited and Bharat Forge Limited manufactured the platforms with support from MSMEs.
