DRDO conducts two consecutive Pralay missile flight-tests off Odisha

On 28 and 29 July 2025, DRDO flight-tested the Pralay missile twice from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam island off Odisha as part of User Evaluation Trials.

Summary

The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted two consecutive successful flight-tests of the Pralay missile from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam island off the coast of Odisha on 28 and 29 July 2025. The tests, part of User Evaluation Trials, validated the maximum and minimum range of the system. Pralay is an indigenous solid-propellant quasi-ballistic missile that can carry multiple types of warheads. Research Centre Imarat (RCI) developed it with other DRDO labs and industry partners Bharat Dynamics Limited and Bharat Electronics Limited. Representatives of the Indian Air Force and the Indian Army witnessed the tests.
