User trials of the Extended Range Anti-Submarine Rocket (ERASR) were successfully carried out from INS Kavaratti between 23 June and 7 July 2025, the Ministry of Defence said. Designed by DRDO's Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE), Pune, with the High Energy Materials Research Laboratory and the Naval Science & Technological Laboratory, ERASR is a fully indigenous anti-submarine rocket fired from the Indigenous Rocket Launcher of naval ships. It uses a twin-rocket-motor configuration and an indigenously developed Electronic Time Fuze. A total of 17 rockets were test-evaluated at different ranges, demonstrating range performance, fuze and warhead functioning. Bharat Dynamics Limited, Hyderabad, and Solar Defence & Aerospace Limited, Nagpur, are the production partners.
