The Defence Research & Development Laboratory (DRDL) of DRDO and AIIMS Bibinagar, Telangana, launched an indigenously developed carbon fibre foot prosthesis named ADIDOC (AIIMS Bibinagar â DRDL, DRDO Indigenously Developed Optimised Carbon Foot Prosthesis) on 14 July 2025, the Ministry of Defence said. The prosthesis was launched by DRDL Director Dr G A Srinivasa Murthy and AIIMS Bibinagar Executive Director Dr Ahanthem Santa Singh. ADIDOC has been tested for loads of up to 125 kg and comes in three weight variants. Its cost is under ₹20,000, against about ₹2 lakh for imported equivalents.
