The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) signed an MoU on 28 January 2025 during 'Jammu Kashmir Konnect' at JKEDI's Baribrahamna campus. The DPIIT–JKEDI MoU aims to widen access to the Startup India ecosystem in J&K through mentorship, knowledge exchange, infrastructure support, market linkages and funding networks. JKEDI said the JK Startup Policy, launched in March 2024, had led to over 250 new startup registrations on the DPIIT portal, taking the total to 988.
