The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), with telecom service providers, has augmented telecom services for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, the Ministry of Communications said on 2 January 2025. For the Maha Kumbh 2025, the Mela area has 192 km of new optical fibre, 78 transportable towers (CoWs), 150 outdoor small cells and 352 new base transceiver stations, while Prayagraj city has 126 km of fibre, 328 new towers and 575 new BTS.
