DGFT extends export obligation period for Advance and EPCG Authorisations to 31 August 2026

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade issued Public Notice No. 51/2025-26 on 6 March 2026, automatically extending export obligation periods expiring between 1 March and 31 May 2026 to 31 August 2026.

Summary

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, issued Public Notice No. 51/2025-26 on 6 March 2026, automatically extending the export obligation (EO) period, or block-wise EO period, to 31 August 2026 for Advance Authorisations and Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Authorisations whose EO period expires between 1 March and 31 May 2026. Exporters need not apply separately or pay any composition fee. The DGFT said the step responds to geopolitical developments disrupting global shipping routes, logistics corridors and supply chains. It covers Advance Authorisations, including those for Annual Requirement and Special Advance Authorisations, as well as EPCG Authorisations.
