On 15 November 2024, Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, the Department of Posts released a commemorative postage stamp on the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda; PM Narendra Modi unveiled it in Jamui, Bihar, in the presence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Born on 15 November 1875 in Ulihatu, Bihar (now Jharkhand), Birsa Munda led the Ulgulan (Great Rebellion) of 1899-1900 to reclaim tribal lands and resist colonial rule. The stamp, designed by Sankha Samanta, shows him addressing his followers; a First Day Cover and brochure were also issued.
