Delhi signs PM-ABHIM MoU with Centre; AB-PMJAY cards distributed

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Department of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of NCT of Delhi signed an MoU on 10 April 2025 to implement the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) in Delhi, in the presence of Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and Ayushman cards of AB-PMJAY were distributed to beneficiaries. Under PM-ABHIM, ₹1,749 crore has been approved for Delhi for 1,139 Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, strengthening of 11 Integrated Public Health Laboratories and 9 Critical Care Blocks. About 36 lakh people in Delhi are expected to benefit from AB-PMJAY; beneficiary families get ₹5 lakh cover a year, topped up by another ₹5 lakh by the Delhi government, for ₹10 lakh in total, and all senior citizens aged 70 and above are covered under Ayushman Vay Vandana.
