CSIR signs five agreements with Norwegian institutions in Oslo on clean energy, offshore wind and geosciences

On 18 May 2026 CSIR/DSIR, led by Director General Dr N. Kalaiselvi, signed five agreements in Oslo with the Research Council of Norway, SINTEF, NTNU and Emerald Geomodelling covering clean energy, offshore wind, sustainability, geosciences and academic exchange.

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) signed five agreements with Norwegian institutions in Oslo on 18 May 2026, during Prime Minister Modi's visit to Norway. Dr N. Kalaiselvi, Director General of CSIR and Secretary of DSIR, led the signing. The agreements were an MoU with the Research Council of Norway, a 2026–2029 collaboration agreement with SINTEF under their 2014 MoU, and a project agreement on ocean energy and floating offshore wind with about ₹341 lakh of CSIR funding. The other two were a joint declaration with NTNU titled 'Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation for the Green Shift' and a five-year MoU between CSIR-NGRI and Emerald Geomodelling.
