A SODAR (Sound Detection and Ranging) system facility designed and developed by CSIR–Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute (AMPRI), Bhopal, was inaugurated at the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi, on 26 September 2025, CSIR's Foundation Day. Ministry of Earth Sciences Secretary M. Ravichandran and IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra inaugurated it. CSIR-AMPRI and IMD also signed an MoU to collaborate on research into weather, climate variability and forecasting.
