6th CSIR RISE Conclave opens in Kolkata with focus on Tier-2 and Tier-3 startups

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh inaugurated the 6th RISE Conclave 2026 at CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (CSIR-IICB), Salt Lake, Kolkata, on 6 September 2026. The two-day conclave (6–7 September) is organised jointly by CSIR-CGCRI, CSIR-IICB, CSIR-CMERI and CSIR-IMMT around a '4M' framework of Minerals, Medicine, Materials and Machines. Singh said more than 50–60 per cent of India's startups are outside the big metros and called for industry partners to be involved from day one. The conclave saw eight MoUs, four technology transfers and two product launches. Earlier editions were held in Mumbai, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru.
