All-India year-on-year inflation based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 5.48% (provisional) in November 2024, down from 6.21% in October 2024, the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation said on 12 December 2024. Rural and urban inflation were 5.95% and 4.83%. Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) inflation was 9.04%, against 10.87% in October. The decline was mainly due to lower inflation in the 'food & beverages' group. Housing inflation was 2.87%. Garlic (85.14%), potato (66.65%), cauliflower (47.70%), cabbage (43.58%) and coconut oil (42.13%) recorded the highest year-on-year inflation.
