Retail inflation at 3.40% in March 2026 on the new CPI base 2024=100

All India CPI inflation on base year 2024 was 3.40% (provisional) in March 2026, up from 3.21% in February, with rural inflation at 3.63% and urban at 3.11%, MoSPI said on 13 April 2026.

Items with the highest inflation were silver jewellery (148.61%), gold/diamond/platinum jewellery (45.92%), copra (45.52%), tomato (35.99%) and cauliflower (34.11%); onion (–27.76%), potato (–18.98%) and garlic (–10.18%) had the lowest.
