Jitendra Singh launches 'Cohort Connect 2025' phenome conclave at CSIR–IMMT Bhubaneswar

Union Science and Technology Minister Dr Jitendra Singh launched the 'Phenome National Conclave on Longitudinal Cohort Studies: Cohort Connect 2025' at CSIR–IMMT, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on 13 November 2025, the eve of World Diabetes Day.

Summary

Cohort Connect 2025 is described as India's largest evidence-based study on the genetic, lifestyle and environmental drivers of disease. Jitendra Singh called metabolic disorders such as diabetes a major national health challenge, said 'Indian data for Indian solutions' is the way to defeat diabetes, and warned against one-size-fits-all health approaches. He said India will soon reach the milestone of sequencing one million genomes.
